HAUSE MACHINES AND CONVERT-A-BALL FORM VALUABLE MANUFACTURING RELATIONSHIP MONTPELIER, Ohio,
Nov. 27, 2001 - Down time can be a killer in manufacturing. When you have orders to fill, delivery schedules to meet, and production goals to accomplish, you can't afford to have your people trying to fix machines that have broken down or taking extra time just to change settings. "We use and have stuck with Hause drilling heads because they are quick and have easy-to-change settings, and have excellent repeatability," explained Jim Reed, production manager for Convert-A-Ball®, the manufacturing operation of Master Trading Inc. in Sidney, Neb. "We have several heads that have drilled a million plus Convert-A-Ball balls and stems."
Convert-A-Ball, a Hause Machines customer since 1993, produces balls and shanks, cushioned ball mounts, and pintle couplers and hitches for the trailer and towing industry. The 13 Hause Holomatic® drilling units that Convert-A-Ball currently has are primarily used for drilling cross holes in Convert-A-Ball stems and balls. The Convert-A-Ball hitch system consists of three interchangeable chromed steel or stainless steel balls that fit on one 1" shank. Reed noted that Hause Machines played an important role in getting his company's drilling operations set up with the initial indexing drilling unit, in addition to subsequent technical assistance and training. Rick Barry, who quotes components for Hause Machines, said the Holomatic line has one of the best reputations for quality in the industry. "It has more than 50 years of proven repeatability and reliability," Barry said. Also, if a Holomatic unit should ever fail, Barry said Hause has replacement parts in stock and can fix it and ship it right back to the customer the same day it is returned in most cases. "That's something not every component manufacturer can say," he added. Hause Machines, based in Montpelier, Ohio, has been serving the metalworking and related industry for more than 68 years with innovative and productive solutions to manufacturing challenges. Hause offers a complete line of machine components, including hydraulic and pneumatic drilling, tapping and boring units and presses, multiple spindle heads and indexers. Hause also designs and manufactures specialty machines engineered to customer specifications.
HAUSE
MACHINES IMPRESSES MANCHESTER TOOL & DIE DURING LONG BUSINESS RELATIONSHIP MONTPELIER, Ohio, Oct. 1, 2001 - Manchester Tool & Die, an OEM for the automotive industry located in North Manchester, Ind., values the high level of customer service and performance at Hause Machines Inc. "Manchester Tool places Hause Machines at the top of our list," said Joe Deal, manager at Manchester Tool.
"Manchester Tool has such a long relationship with Hause that they know our units almost as well as we do," added Rick Barry, component salesman at Hause Machines. "I feel a great advantage is the customer service. Hause engineers are very receptive to suggestions and criticisms. We have a great working relationship with Hause Machines," said Deal. "Products from Hause meet and exceed our expectations. They are more than willing to help in advising and recommending units for particular applications." "We helped advise
Manchester Tool to use Hause servo and hydraulic machine units for their
forming applications. Hause servo units allowed for flexible, programmable
options while the CAM operated hydraulic units provided more thrust than
air units," said Barry. The performance of
Hause products, such as drill unit machines, hydraulic units and air/hydraulic
units, play a big part in projects at Manchester Tool & Die. "Our
equipment has been designed around Hause units. These machines and units
have been a major component of our equipment for the past 20 years,"
said Deal. "At Hause Machines, we have our own repair department and are glad to provide training in operations, as well as troubleshooting for any of our customers. If required, we can also send needed parts to our customers immediately in most cases," said Barry. "Hause maintains a high level of quality, reliability and versatility in their units that allow a machine builder to be able to do one stop shopping with them," said Deal. The new lines of machinery recently affiliated with Hause, including rotary index tables and drill units and equipment, may also benefit Manchester Tool & Die. Manchester Tool & Die, a company with more than 35 years of experience in machine building, produces quality production machinery used in tube end forming, crimping, roll grooving and other specialized applications. its business and achieved higher productivity with Hause Machines Inc.
during a 15 year relationship. Bill Lewis, automation specialist at Premix, states that Premix schedules more than 140 job changeovers a month. Many of the Hause units we've purchased have cycled over 1 million times in their life and show no wear or loss of reliability," said Lewis. "Our equipment must run everyday. Hause offers us a significant advantage in overall productivity." "Once a customer

us and we have built a solid relationship," said Rick Barry, component
salesman at Hause Machines. Premix has purchased over 25 tapping units from Hause. One business segment at Premix requires the use of Hause A7 lead screw tapping units to thread over 2 million holes annually. said Lewis. "Hause Machines
